To coordinate and develop telemedicine technologies in 2019, the Endocrinology Center created a separate structural unit - a telemedicine center equipped with all the necessary equipment to organize telemedicine consultations in real time, as well as delayed consultations on documents and selection for treatment.

Today the specialists of the Center provide remote teleconsultations of “Doctor-Doctor” type to any clinic of our Republic in all areas of endocrinology service. There are more than 50 scientific and clinical staff members in the consultants' roster, who are simultaneously leading specialists and heads of clinical departments of the Center.

The system of remote counseling is successfully used in the clinic due to the introduction of electronic document flow in the processing of the request. High-quality and uninterrupted communication, as well as protection of patients' personal data is ensured by the latest telecommunication equipment. The schedule of organization of telemedicine consultations has been approved, which implies the provision of a response within a clearly defined period of time.

Today the Center provides telemedicine services in two directions:

1. Remote teleconsultation.

2. Remote diagnostics

Remote teleconsultation and patient monitoring

A strategically important direction of telemedicine is the provision of telemedical consultations and consultations. According to the results of work in 2020, more than 600 patients from the regions of Uzbekistan and abroad received remote consultations in our Center.

Telemedicine consultation on documents - provides only the presence of medical documents and results of diagnostic studies, is organized in case of any regional health care institution's application to the telemedicine center. It is a convenient and cost-effective form of preliminary selection for hospitalization.

Telemedicine consilium of doctors - convened on the initiative of the Center's consultant in difficult or rare and diagnostically complicated cases (often held in the presence of the patient).

Remote diagnostics

Another direction of telemedicine offered by the Center is the provision of primary interpretation of studies (including second expert opinion) and remote diagnostics in online mode. These are, first of all, CT and MRI scans, Holter monitoring and electrocardiography. With the widespread introduction of radiologic methods of research the most demanded are teleradiology delayed consultations. Along with them, consultations based on the results of various cytologic studies are also relevant.
