The department specializes in the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, osteoporosis, obesity. Hospitalization in the department is carried out in a planned manner to referrals from polyclinics and regional endocrinological dispensaries throughout the republic. The department has 26 beds, the wards are considered comfortable for treatment in them.

Using the advantages of our center, patients undergoing treatment in the department can verify such complications of diabetes as diabetic nephropathy at all stages of the process (from microalbuminuria to chronic renal failure), diabetic retinopathy , diabetic polyneuropathy diabetic macroangiopathy: ischemic heart disease and heart failure. In order to verify thyroid diseases, ultrasound research methods are carried out, the study of the hormonal spectrum, including the determination of antibodies to TSH receptors.

Currently, the department has introduced new methods of treatment and diagnosis of endocrine diseases, in particular:

  1. Daily glucose monitoring with a glucometer and laboratory intervention;

  2. Treatment of diabetic patients with new groups of hypoglycemic drugs (incretins, insulin analogs, GLP-1 agonists, NGLT-2 inhibitors);

  3. New laboratory methods for investigating thyroid diseases and diabetes mellitus: antibodies to TSH receptors.

  4. Tests for initial consultation on osteoporosis:
    • Total calcium, ionized calcium, phosphorus, alkaline phosphatase
    • Blood parathyroid hormone
    • Blood Vitamin D
    • Blood osteocalcin, β - Cross labs.

The department has a “School for patients with diabetes mellitus”, classes are conducted by specially trained medical personnel.

The doctors of the department work in close cooperation with the staff of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetology, who provide consultations to the patients of the department, which allows them to maintain the treatment and diagnostic process at a high professional level.

The department employs a permanent team of nurses. All nurses have certificates for the right to professional activity, trained under the program of additional professional education (nursing in endocrinology), have the highest and first qualified categories.
