The main diseases of the thyroid pathology department are:

• Autoimmune diseases of the thyroid gland: diffuse toxic goiter (Graves' disease), including in combination with endocrine ophthalmopathy, chronic autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's disease)


• Nodular and diffuse forms of goiter (nodular / multinodular colloid goiter, thyroid adenomas, highly differentiated thyroid cancer, diffuse non-toxic goiter)


• Viral and bacterial diseases of the thyroid gland: acute and subacute thyroiditis (De Quervain's thyroiditis)


• Syndromes of thyrotoxicosis and hypothyroidism

On the basis of the department, work is being carried out to prevent iodine deficiency diseases, epidemiological work is carried out to monitor diseases associated with iodine deficiency. The biochemical laboratory of the RSNPMCE of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan is a resource laboratory for quality control of studies of iodine excretion in urine within the framework of epidemiological programs. The department conducts innovative scientific research, clinical approbation of modern diagnostic methods and medicines, the results of which form the basis of national standards for the provision of specialized medical care to patients with endocrine system diseases, in particular thyroid diseases, and are reflected in the relevant national clinical guidelines. < / p>
