The Department of Pediatric Endocrinology was founded in 1979. and to the present time it is the only one in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which carries out medical and diagnostic measures based on world standards in pediatric endocrinology. The Department of Pediatric Endocrinology is engaged in the development of scientific foundations of etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of endocrine diseases in children and adolescents.

Today, the department provides specialized medical care for children and adolescents with endocrine pathologies, such as:

  • Diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2 in children and adolescents. Including, with the use of modern therapy technologies diabetes with the use of insulin pumps, 24-hour glycemic monitoring systems

  • Diseases of the thyroid gland (treatment of thyrotoxicosis of various etiologies, autoimmune thyroid, nodular forms of goiter, etc.). Pathology of the parathyroid glands.
  • Growth pathology (various variants of stunting). Differential diagnostics of endocrine and other variants of short stature is carried out. Stimulation tests are performed to detect growth hormone deficiency. For patients with confirmed somatotropic insufficiency, growth hormone replacement therapy with monitoring of the effectiveness and safety of this type of therapy.


  • Sex pathology (delayed sexual development, hypogonadism, premature sexual development). Violation of gender formation. To diagnose gender formation disorders, a full multidisciplinary examination is carried out with the involvement of geneticists, psychologists, surgeons, gynecologists. According to the testimony, consultations are held to resolve issues of changing the passport sex.

  • Diseases of the hypothalamic-pituitary region. Diseases of the adrenal glands. Differential diagnosis of adrenal gland pathology is carried out, including neuroendocrine tumors and various genetic syndromes associated with hypocorticism.


  • Obesity, metabolic syndrome in children. Special weight loss programs have been developed for children and adolescents with various degrees of obesity.

  • Examination of children and adolescents with resistant arterial hypertension, including familial forms.
