A two-day school for doctors was held in Tashkent.

"Dietetic Palette: Modern Weight Management"

From January 31 to February 1, 2026, a two-day educational school for healthcare professionals, "Dietetic Palette: Modern Weight Management," was held at the PANARAMS Tashkent Hotel in Tashkent. The school focused on modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related metabolic disorders.

The event was organized with the participation of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology and leading experts from the I.I. Dedov National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology (Russian Federation), a flagship scientific and clinical center in the field of endocrinology.

The school brought together endocrinologists, nutritionists, gastroenterologists, neurologists, internists, and general practitioners from various regions of Uzbekistan. The program was designed as an intensive professional training program with an emphasis on clinical practice, an interdisciplinary approach, and the implementation of international guidelines in real-life medical practice.

Over the course of two days, participants explored in detail key and complex issues in modern dietetics and metabolic medicine, including:
• micronutrient and macronutrient balance in carbohydrate metabolism disorders;
• clinical aspects of hypercalcemia and deficiency states;
• metabolic antagonism and synergism of micronutrients;
• sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity as a new clinical reality;
• the role of bile acids and intestinal microbiota in body weight regulation;
• neurometabolic mechanisms of obesity;
• modern strategies for the drug treatment of obesity;
• errors in dietary prescription and nutritional planning;
• individualized therapy selection and dosage adjustment.

A distinctive feature of the school was its "dialogue of specialists" format, where each clinical issue was examined from the perspectives of an endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, nutritionist, and neurologist, as well as real-life clinical cases from medical practice.

Leading Russian experts—doctors of medical sciences, professors, and leading researchers in the fields of endocrinology, dietetics, gastroenterology, and neurology—delivered lectures and master classes, ensuring a high scientific and practical level for the event.

Upon completion of the training, all participants received a certificate from the I.I. Dedov National Medical Research Center of Endocrinology (Russian Federation) for 18 academic hours, which is valid for qualifying in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This school marked an important step in developing continuous medical education, strengthening international cooperation, and introducing modern, evidence-based approaches to treating obesity and metabolic diseases into the clinical practice of physicians in Uzbekistan.

The organizers emphasized that similar educational projects will be continued in the future, with the aim of improving the quality of medical care, improving public health, and developing a unified professional approach to managing patients with obesity and related endocrine pathologies.
