Under a state grant entitled "Development of a Methodology for Biological Monitoring in Iodine Deficiency Risk Groups and Updating Diagnostic and Treatment Algorithms," screening activities were conducted in the cities of Nurafshon, Angren, and Chirchik, as well as in the districts of Bostanlyk, Akkurgan, Kuyi-Chirchik, Kibray, and Yukyori-Chirchik.
During the activities, students in grades 1-5 underwent a clinical examination and thyroid ultrasound. Urine samples and samples of table salt consumed by families were also collected and sent to a laboratory for iodine analysis.
The results will be used to assess iodine deficiency among children at risk and plan effective preventive measures.
