In Tashkent region, endocrinologists organized screening and analytical activities among schoolchildren in the city and district on the topic of "Iodine Deficiency Assessment." As part of this activity, conducted under the grant "Development of a Methodology for Biological Monitoring in Iodine Deficiency Risk Groups and Updating Treatment Algorithms," in collaboration with endocrinologists from the Center, regions, and localities, students in grades 1-5 in our region underwent clinical examinations, thyroid ultrasounds, growth and development assessments, and urine samples and samples of table salt consumed by the children were collected and sent to a laboratory for iodine content determination.
The main goal of the activity was to assess iodine deficiency in children at risk and implement effective thyroid disease prevention.
