On 25.02.2026, a training seminar on a topical issue for nurses working in the primary healthcare system was held in the Urgut district. The event included a detailed discussion of the prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and iodine deficiency disorders.
The training seminar was held in the Urgut district and was actively attended by visiting nurses from the regional health department. L.O. Mirtazaeva, senior nurse of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology, and Ya.A. Abdurozikova and I.G. Alimov, staff members of the Samarkand Regional Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology, participated in the event and delivered presentations.
The training focused on the following topics:
Criteria and risk factors for the early diagnosis of prediabetes;
Clinical symptoms, complications, and preventive measures for type 2 diabetes;
Causes of obesity and its prevention through healthy lifestyle practices;
The impact of iodine deficiency diseases on public health and the importance of using iodized salt;
Screening, monitoring, and outreach procedures in home care services.
The speakers provided practical recommendations on modern diagnostic methods, the correct use of medications, patient management under clinical supervision, and the provision of consultations based on an individualized approach.
The seminar-training was organized in the form of questions and answers and interactive discussions, which contributed to the strengthening of participants' knowledge and skills. This event is of great importance for strengthening the prevention of endocrine diseases in the region and protecting public health.
