On 24-25.02.2026, a training seminar on "Prevention, Early Diagnosis, Treatment, and Continuous Monitoring of Prediabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, and Iodine Deficiency Disorders" was held in the Zharkurgan and Termez districts of the Sukhandarya Region for nurses and practicing nurses working in the primary health care system. Participants included O.O.Alimkhanov, surgeon of the RSSPMCE; M.D.Markhaeva, nurse trainer; M. M.Yuldashev, chief endocrinologist of the Surkhandarya Regional Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology; and B.N.Valiev, endocrinologist of the Termez District of the MCP. The seminar was attended by 33 registered nurses and practicing nurses from the Zharkurgan district and 60 registered nurses and practicing nurses from the Termez district. The training focused on the following topics:
Criteria for the early detection of prediabetes and risk factors; clinical symptoms, complications, and preventive measures for type 2 diabetes; the causes of obesity and its prevention through healthy lifestyles; the impact of iodine deficiency diseases on public health; and the importance of using iodized salt. Screening, monitoring, and educational activities were conducted within the home care service, and seminar participants were awarded certificates.
