In accordance with the objectives set forth in Decree No. PK-335 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 23, 2024, "On additional measures for the further development of medical and sanitary tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan" and the memorandum concluded with the Sughd Regional Center of Clinical Endocrinology of the Republic of Tajikistan, a medical examination was organized in Khujand on April 27-28, 2026.
During the event, patients were examined by qualified specialists from the Republic of Uzbekistan:
Chief Pediatric Endocrinologist of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Shahrizoda Talabbekovna Sultanova
Adult Endocrinologist - Vladimir Nikolaevich Chekmanov
Ultrasound Specialist - Sirojiddin Suyun oglu Kholmuminov
During the event, 45 doctors from the Sughd Regional Center of Clinical Endocrinology were introduced to the functional activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology. Over 100 brochures and leaflets describing the center's activities were also distributed.
A total of 230 patients were examined during the medical examination. Fifty-seven of them were recommended to undergo a comprehensive medical examination and receive the necessary treatment at the Endocrinology Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan due to limited capacity for a full examination in the Republic of Tajikistan.
A lecture and master class on "Diabetes Management" were also held by Shahrizoda Talabbekovna Sultanova, Chief Pediatric Endocrinologist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for 12 endocrinologists and 15 patients with type 1 diabetes.
This event contributed to strengthening medical cooperation between the two countries, developing medical tourism, and improving the quality of endocrinology services provided to the public.
