For human dignity! On November 12 of the current year in Syrdarya region, an event dedicated to the completion of the three-year project of the World Health Organization and the World Diabetes Foundation was held!
Employees of the State Medical Insurance Fund, officials of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a group of specialists from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the events held in the 4th Family Polyclinic of Gulistan city.
The main goal of the project is to combat type 2 diabetes mellitus, improve the quality of primary health care and train medical personnel. The pilot project was planned to be conducted in Gulistan, Sardoba, Akolta and Boyovut districts of Syrdarya province.
Within the framework of the three-year program, updated clinical protocols were introduced, doctors and nurses were trained, and schools were organized for patients at the primary health care level to raise awareness among citizens with diabetes mellitus and develop skills for self-management of the disease.
The achievements and shortcomings of the project were also analyzed. During the visit to the polyclinic, the international experts were familiarized in detail with the procedures for obtaining free medicines based on the patient's route in the public health insurance system and the reimbursement program.
