For human dignity! Our holiday dedicated to World Diabetes Day World Diabetes Day is a significant day celebrated annually on November 14 under the auspices of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF)
The date of November 14 was not chosen by chance. Frederick Banting was born on this day - one of the researchers who suggested using insulin extracted from the pancreas to treat diabetes. In 1923, Banting, together with his laboratory head Prof. MacLeod, received the Nobel Prize for this discovery; in 1934, British monarch George V gave Banting a knighthood. In recognition of Frederick Bunting's exceptional achievements, World Diabetes Day has been celebrated on November 14 since 1991.
