Body Mass Index (BMI) calculates the ratio of your weight to your height. This indicator lets you know if your weight is within a normal range. The higher your BMI, the higher your risk of developing cardiovascular disease, hypertension, osteoarthritis, diabetes and other diseases.

It is calculated as follows: you need to divide your weight (for example, 65 kg) by the square of your height in meters (for example, if your height is 160 cm, you need to multiply 1.6 by 1.6 to get 2.56). Divide the weight of 65 kg by 2.56, and you get a BMI of 25.39.

- A healthy BMI is considered to be between 18.5 and 25. The higher the BMI, the higher the risk of obesity-related diseases.

Endocrinology Center specialists can advise you on weight loss programs and help you avoid obesity.
